Kitchen & Bathroom Trends For 2023

Posted

The last few years have completely reshaped how we live our day to day lives. Nearly five million people now work from home at least half the time, and increasing gas prices are cutting back on the number of errands we do. More time at home means making our surroundings more enjoyable.

As a result, we have seen a spike in home remodeling projects. Certain trends have been noticed and appear to be taking root. With families looking to the future in a world of uncertainty, they are planning for stability now.

Aging In Place

Families are doing more to keep their loved ones at home, and out of long-term care facilities. This means making alterations like adding handrails, changing flooring, and even lowering light switches for better accessibility. Handrails no longer mean hospital-style additions that stand out in a room, but are now available in pleasing styles and colors.

Spa-Like Atmosphere

With self-care and stress reduction being at the forefront of mental health, the ability to unwind and pamper yourself in the comfort of your own home is important. People are enjoying the luxuries of deep, stand-alone bathtubs, multiple shower heads, and steam showers.

Sustainability

Going green has been a trend for a while but there appears to be more interest now in replacing countertops and floors with reclaimed wood, bamboo, granite and marble. Not only are these resources sustainable but they also hold up well to the test of time.

Smart Features

From smart water faucets to voice activated refrigerators, this is a trend that is on the rise. As technology continues to advance and features improve, these will likely be things we see in many homes.
